Empire has reported that the latest star linked to the Hunger Games is John C Reilly, who has been offered the role of Haymitch Abernathy. Paula Malcolmson (Caprica, Sons of Anarchy, Deadwood) has also been confirmed. Gary Ross starts directing next month with the current cast also consisting of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Amandla Stenberg, Dayo Okeniyi, Jack Quaid, Willow Shields and Levin Rambin.
Hunger Games is set in a post-apocalyptic future where girls and boys compete to the death in televised tournaments.
