David O Russell circles Disney's Maleficant

THR have reported that David O Russell is circling Disney’s Maleficant following the withdrawal of Tim Burton, who was attached to direct the live action sleeping beauty story told from the witch’s point of view. Angelina Jolie is attached to star. The news follows Russell’s withdrawal, for creative differences, from Unchartered Drake’s Fortune for which The Fighter director wrote a draft script.
