Lionsgate today announced the close of principal photography on the highly anticipated film The Hunger Games, to be released on March 23, 2012. Filmed entirely in North Carolina, the film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth with a support cast featuring Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Wes Bentley and Toby Jones. The first look at footage from the film debuted on MTV’s 2011 Video Music Awards in August with the show attracting MTV's biggest audience in the network's history.
